When to go?
In any season. The climate of Zanzibar allows you to relax on the island all year round. Even during the rainy season – at the very end of November and from March to May — The weather is favorable for guests – it usually rains at night and early in the morning. How to get to Zanzibar?
It’s very simple – a visa is issued at the airport upon arrival, for 3 months and costs $50. You may be asked to pay for your visa upon arrival using a Visa or Mastercard, so be sure to take it with you. If you want to arrange it before your trip, this can also be done in Moscow for $60.
You can fly to Zanzibar comfortably on regular flights of Qatar Airways, Flydubai, Turkish Airlines, Air France, KLM, Oman Air, Ethiopian Airlines. If you choose a route with a transfer in the Middle East, you will spend only 10 to 16 hours on the way, including the time spent on transfers.
You can also get to the island from Moscow on a charter flight of Rossiya Airlines, non-stop, in 8-9 hours.
Should I vaccinate?
If you feel safer, you can get vaccinated against yellow fever 10 days before travel, but it is only required if you plan to cross the Kenyan border, for example, for a safari. There are no mandatory vaccinations for traveling to Zanzibar.
Which resort to go to?
The beaches of Zanzibar are connected into a single coastline. Many, many kilometers of fine white sand stretch around the entire island, so when choosing a resort in Zanzibar, you should first of all focus on ocean activity — and it's not about the waves at all.
